Painting Workshops with BlueSea Care
For over two years, I facilitated painting workshops for seniors with dementia at BlueSea Care Services. These sessions provided a vital and supportive space, fostering social interaction and connection within a population that often experiences isolation. The workshops became a time where individuals could engage with others, with many participants attending alongside their children or caregivers. This created an intergenerational environment that encouraged communication and bonding, transcending the focus on the artwork itself. The primary value of the workshops lay in the relationships formed and the sense of community built, with the act of painting serving as a means of expression and connection rather than a pursuit of finished pieces.
